Prince Harry looked ‘awkward’ and ‘trapped’ during the video call in which he called on the Commonwealth to ‘acknowledge’ its past wrongs, a body language expert has revealed.
The Duke of Sussex, 35, made the divisive comments during a virtual meeting with Meghan Markle, 38, and global young leaders from the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust last week, which was made public yesterday.
Speaking from his home in Los Angeles, Prince Harry said the Commonwealth, which is headed by his grandmother the Queen, needs to follow others who have ‘acknowledged the past’ and are ‘trying to right their wrongs’.
Analysing footage of the discussion for FEMAIL, body language expert Judi James noted Prince Harry looked ‘awkward’ and ‘spoke down to the floor’ throughout parts of the conversation, with his position at the far side of the frame making it look as though he was ‘trapped’.
The sentiment was echoed by social media users who said the video made for ‘uncomfortable’ viewing.
One even suggested the prince looked like he was being ‘held hostage’ on the call.
Judi also noted Harry appeared to immediately ‘reflect’ on his comments about the Commonwealth within moments of the words leaving his lips, hinting that he immediately understood the impact they would have.
