Children are known for their brutal honesty – as one child showed when answering a question in the recent SATs tests.

The child, who is in Year 6, gave an extremely witty answer when asked to write a sentence using the word ‘point’ as a noun’.

The youngster simply wrote: ‘I don’t see the point in sats.’

The funny answer was posted on Facebook by teacher Damith Bandara, from Tunbridge Wells.

He wrote: ‘Now that Sats are over. One of my children wrote this on the grammar paper. The question was to write the word “point” as verb and noun.

‘The answer you see is for the latter! An intelligent response I thought.’

For the question above, which required the child to write a sentence using the word ‘point’ as a verb, the child wrote: ‘I point at the car.’

The funny answer was posted on Facebook by teacher Damith Bandara, who is from Tunbridge Wells

The Year 6 SATs tests, taken at the start of the month, were surrounded in controversy this year.

Parents said their children had come home in tears after sitting the tests, which were described by some as the ‘hardest ever’.
